Meinl use 6 different alloys to craft their cymbals which is more than any other cymbal manufacturer is using today. Because of this they are able to offer the widest range of cymbal sound characteristics available.
The Meinl Byzance Brilliant series takes the Traditional Byzance and darkens the sound. The darker sound is created by a finishing process that limits the high overtones and buffs the cymbal giving it its brilliant look. Heavier models have a strong, direct sound and thinner models give a shimmering warmth. The overall combination make Byzance Brilliant a great choice for funk, fusion and rock.
