The Externally Mounted Adjustable Damping system of Evans’ EMAD range sets them apart from other bass drumheads – this adds a foam dampening ring to the outside of the head to focus the sound and control sustain and overtones. The player can even adjust attack and focus without removing the drumhead, simply by changing the size of dampening ring.
